We visit local cinemas, mainly the Vue at Eastleigh where we go to their regular Tuesday morning "Seniors Club". It is an opportunity to see films that one would not normally see, and we usually have an informal discussion of the film over lunch at the Wagon Works (a Wetherspoon establishment).
The Vue Seniors Club screenings are on Tuesdays at 11.00 am and tickets are only £3 including tea or coffee, and biscuits. Full details of screenings can be found on the Vue website www.myvue.co.uk . Select "Eastleigh" from the drop down menu and look under "hot offers".
The Odeon, Southampton, also has "Senior" screenings, these used to be on Fridays but are now on Tuesdays. We aim to support our local cinema at Eastleigh but on occasions the film at the Odeon may appeal to us. Their website is www.odeon.co.uk but is quite difficult to navigate, so contact us for more information if you are not sure.
We sometimes visit The Point at Eastleigh which also has an interesting selection of films. Details can be found at www.thepointeastleigh.co.uk .
Regular planning meetings are held to agree on which films we would like to see. Obviously members can go to any film they wish, but contact us first unless you want to see the film on your own!
