The first project undertaken by the Local History Group was an investigation into the towns and villages along the River Hamble. We are now looking at the history associated with the Stoneham area incorporating the North and South Stoneham Parishes. Two websites with much interesting information on the area are www.northstoneham.org.uk/park/northstonehamhouse.html and www.willisfleming.org.uk/stoneham. Each member of the group is investigating an area of their own choice.
We’re a very informal group and work very much at our own pace, we’ve visited some lovely and interesting
places and had refreshments in some very pleasant pubs and cafes.
New members would be very welcome, we meet on the morning of the 2nd Thursday of each month.
